Beer Yeast Sachet 5g - for Fermenting Craft Ales & Beers - Homebrew Home Brew

  • This Craft Ale Yeast has been specially selected for use when brewing top fermented Beers and Ales. There are many different strains of Ale Yeast available on the UK market today, we chose ours as it originates from America and is used today by a large number of commercial craft breweries both in the UK and abroad and has a proven track record for reliability within the industry.
  • It has an excellent fermentation capacity and ferments very quickly. 5 grams of yeast for a 40 pint (23 litre) brew being fermented at between 16 and 22 degrees Celsius.
  • This yeast is particularly tolerant to alcohol so can be used for both primary and secondary fermentation to make medium and higher strength American style Ales and Beers.
  • This strain has good sedimentation properties at the end of the fermentation.
  • The percentage of sugars converted into alcohol at the end of the fermentation (the final attenuation degree) of this yeast strain is very high which will generally produce a drier beer with a higher ABV.

I bought this product to make homemade ginger beer which had no problem starting to ferment. I only used a quarter of a sachet for 1 gallon which is great for value since real stem ginger can be tricky to get going and sometimes needs a lot more yeast to kick start.

First yeast was old so tossed this in to finish off the brew It works and the yeast all sank nicely to the bottom of the 25 litre bucket. When decanted into 1 litre bottles the yeast sticks well to the bottle so puring diesnt easily disturb it

First one I've ever used so I can't comment on the way it made things taste but it was easy to use and it worked. I brewed some cider which was absolutely delicious for a few days but as a first timer I guess I over brewed it. I think anyone with more experience (or who bothered to read up on it a little more before diving in) would get a good brew it of it. I used as tiny amount at a time and have most of it left, resealing it with tape which seems to work.
